General Standards of Style - BOS Boot Camp Series (1 CEC - MT Tools)
Did you know that Section 2 of the Book of Style generates more questions and feedback than all other sections of the text combined? Why? It’s the section that deals with the minutia of grammar, punctuation, usage, etc. – areas that typically trip up even the most seasoned transcriptionist. The rules can be complex, particularly as documentation specialists try to recall all of the rules and exceptions to language they once learned in elementary school. Yet the application of those standards is important to creating a technically accurate legal document. In this session, we’ll take a closer look just at this set of important chapters in the BOS and look at some exam-style practice questions that test your knowledge of these critical domains. Attendees are encouraged to bring their copy of the BOS to this session.
