The Capital Chapter is a component organization of AHDI (Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity). The Chapter's main purpose is to provide educational, networking, and fellowship opportunities designed to encourage the advancement of excellence in medical transcription and healthcare documentation. The Capital Chapter was originally chartered in 1983 as a component association of AAMT (American Association for Medical Transcription). We are proudly celebrating our 27th anniversary in 2010.
The Capital Chapter has a diverse membership from the greater Austin and surrounding area. Our members include MTs who work for hospitals, clinics, and transcription services, as well as home-based independent contractors and employees. Have you heard? A proposal which includes major changes in the AHDI structure and component governance will possibly be voted on by the AHDI House of Delegates meeting at ACE. Texas members--please let your voice be heard! Your Texas Delegate is Cynthia Alder and she will be voting on on behalf of all Texas members, including YOU. Find out how the changes might affect you, as well as your local chapter or state component. Please share your opinion with your Delegate and make your wishes known, as she will represent YOU and all Texas members at the HOD meeting on August 3 & 4. Read the FAQs for the proposal  UPDATE: The BGG proposal is being revised and a second "proposal B" will be released soon for review. At this time, no vote is planned for the upcoming HOD meeting on August 3 & 4 but the vote could occur at the next HOD meeting in November.
